The Road Ahead

As a proud Black-owned business based in San Jose, CA, we’re excited to spotlight some of the best Juneteenth events in the San Francisco Bay Area for 2025. These powerful Bay Area Juneteenth celebrations honor Black freedom, African American culture, and community resilience, and they take place across the region—from Oakland and San Francisco to Vallejo, Livermore, and East Palo Alto.

Whether you’re looking for a vibrant Juneteenth parade, a family-friendly community festival, or a meaningful cultural celebration, the Bay Area’s Juneteenth events offer something for everyone. With summer events in full swing, now’s the perfect time to support local Black communities and connect through art, music, food, and storytelling.

1. San Francisco’s Third Annual Juneteenth Parade & Celebration

• Date: Sunday, June 22 | Parade: 11 AM | Celebration: 12–6 PM

• Location: Market Street to Fulton Plaza, San Francisco

• Details: Join San Francisco’s flagship Juneteenth parade, culminating in a high-energy celebration with live performances, Black-owned food vendors, and community speakers honoring African American history.
  
  

2. Hella Juneteenth at Oakland Museum of California (OMCA)

• Date: Thursday, June 19 | 12–5 PM
• Location: 1000 Oak Street, Oakland

3. CityDance San Jose: Juneteenth—African American Music and Dance

• Date: Thursday, June 19
• Location: Circle of Palms Plaza, Downtown San Jose

4. Oakland Juneteenth Celebration & Street Festival

• Location: Brockhurst Street & San Pablo Avenue, Oakland
• Details: This 18th annual Oakland festival features Black-owned businesses, art exhibits, and live entertainment, celebrating Juneteenth’s legacy with thousands of attendees.
  
  

5. Juneteenth Gala: Freedom Carriers – Women Who Build, Lead, and Liberate

• Date: Thursday, June 19 | 5:30–9 PM
• Location: The City Club of San Francisco
• Details: A formal Juneteenth gala that highlights Black women leaders, featuring keynote speeches, cultural tributes, and community awards in an elegant setting.
  
  

6. Laugh Therapy Juneteenth Comedy Show & Fundraiser

• Date: Saturday, June 21 | 7:30–9:30 PM

• Location: Bayview Opera House, San Francisco

9. Vallejo Juneteenth Parade & Festival

• Location: Barbara Kondylis Waterfront Green, Vallejo

13. San Mateo County Juneteenth Wellness Celebration

• Location: Eastside College Preparatory School, East Palo Alto
• Details: Focused on Black wellness and community, this Juneteenth event features health screenings, speakers, performances, and a local resource fair.
